Wet dog food — cans, stews, and pâtés from the brands we actually stock in our Boston shops. Every recipe here is one our team hand-picks, feeds their own dogs, and can explain to you without reading the back of the label.
What counts as wet dog food?
Wet dog food is any canned, pouched, or stewed recipe with high moisture content — usually 70–85% water by weight, compared to about 10% in kibble. That includes pâtés (smooth, spoonable), stews and shreds (chunks in gravy or broth), and toppers meant to go over dry food rather than replace it. All three are in this collection.
Why feed wet food?

Hydration. Dogs who don't drink much get most of their water at mealtime. Wet food does that work for them.

Picky eaters. Warmer aroma, softer texture. It's usually what gets a stalled dog back to the bowl.

Senior and small-breed dogs. Easier to chew, easier on worn teeth, easier to eat slowly.

Fewer ingredients to sort through. Most of the recipes here run short — a named meat, a broth, a vegetable or two.
How much wet food should I feed my dog?
Every can gives a feeding guide by weight, and that's the number to start from. As a rough anchor, a fully wet-fed dog eats roughly one 12–13 oz can per 20–25 lbs of body weight per day, split across meals. If you're using wet food as a topper over kibble, a quarter to a third of a can per meal is plenty — and cut the kibble a little to match, or you're just adding calories.
Can I mix wet and dry food?
Yes, and most of our customers do. Mixing is the most common way people use wet food: a spoonful of stew stirred into kibble adds moisture and smell without changing the whole diet or the whole budget. Switch gradually over about a week, blending a little more of the new food in each day, so your dog's stomach has time to catch up.
How long does an open can last?
Cover it and refrigerate it. Use within three days, and let it come up toward room temperature before serving — cold from the fridge is the single most common reason a dog turns down food they liked yesterday.
What we stock
Weruva, Open Farm, Fromm, and Stella & Chewy's make up most of our wet food shelf. We carry them because they name their protein sources, publish where their ingredients come from, and hold up over years of customers telling us how their dogs did on them. We don't carry a brand we wouldn't feed our own.

We've been making treats by hand on the Boston Fish Pier since 2002 — it started with Pearl, a one-eyed rescue from Puerto Rico who danced her head side to side when she said hello. The wet food is the part of the shop we don't make ourselves, so we're picky about whose we carry. Order online for delivery, or come see us in South Boston, the Seaport, or the South End and ask us what we'd feed your dog. Don't mind the fish aroma.
